Airsoft guns are great for plinking and if you want to make the most out of them you must take good care of them. First and foremost, you must learn to take proper care of the barrel of the gun. If you are using the gun in a clean environment, thoroughly clean the barrel after you have fired it around 100 times. If you are operating in dusty environment, clean the barrel after every single day of use.
For the gas based BB guns, clean the chamber of gas cylinder every once in a while, If you have an electric model, make sure that you only use appropriate batteries.
You must also take good care of the ammo clip. The magazine of the gun uses a spring to shove bullets up in the gun barrel. The spring must be kept clean. Do a visual inspection of the clip every time you are about to load it. In case there is anything stuck in the spring, remove it at once.
